Octavo, [iv], 17, [2]. Cloth covered boards with gilt-printed morocco spine; some wear and rubbing to spine and corners; slight toning and darkening to text edges; two bookplates and an early bookseller's description pasted in.

One of the bookplates bears the name of Andrew Dickson White. White (1832-1918), an American educator and diplomat, was the first president of what is now Cornell University, and author of the History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom, published in 1896.
