An adaptation of the fables of Aesop, an imaginative translation by Brian Patten, transposing the fables from prose to poetry. Illustrated in colour and monochrome throughout by Errol le Cain, who won the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1984. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper.
