Personal reminiscences of the Maori Wars told in a fervid, lively style investing Maori with as much honour and glory as his Pakeha adversary, mainly the Taranaki campaign. CONDITION Blue cloth with White titles, half tone photo frontis portrait with clean tissue guard, pp 171 with 6 half tone photo illus of various Maori chiefs, and a colour fold out map. Nice bright copy with sl dust spotting and light age toning to eps, gutter split to joint mull intact, gift inscription to half title dated 1899, minor wear to spine ends and tips. Overall a very nice copy of this title.. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Not Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
