About This Item

Sydney: Ashton Scholastic, 2002. 1st ed.. Hardback quarto, no jacket, very good condition, pictorial cover, full-page colour drawings, horizontal strip on free flyleaf (strip of paper removed leaving a light impression on the blue endpaper), minor edgewear. 32 pp. Children's picture story by Arone Raymond Meeks, being an Aboriginal legend. Sisa gets lost from her family, and meets a boy named Bindi who has to gather berries before he can return home. Sisi offers to help him, and he tells her he will help her to return to her family. He disappears, and Sisi wonders how she will be able to find her family. A beautiful cassowary comes along and helps her return home. Sisi thinks that the cassowary has some features like the boy she met. The author has written and illustrated this beautiful book, and previously wrote and illustrated 'Enora and the Black Crane’.
