London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1940. First Edition . Cloth Bound Boards. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Size 7½" x 5", 74 pages. Beige cloth covered boards with red titles to the spine. Condition good, corners edges and spine edges rubbed, spine and cover edges grubby, couple of spots on prelims and ends, pencil note on title page, else contents clean. A collection of war time poetry. A previous owner has written an interesting note in pencil on the title page. Next to Herbert's name he has written "One-time M.P.!" and then goes on "In the 1930s, as a member of the Skittle (cheese, not ball) Team at The Haven pub, Ealing Broadway, we played matches against A.P.H.'s pub team near The Thames, not far from "The Doves" at Hammersmith.
