About This Item
[London]: Privately Printed, 1933. First edition. Paperback. Crease to front wrapper near spine, slight darkening to edges of wrappers, else near fine. [16] pp., photogravure portrait frontispiece of Sir Emery Walker (photo-engraving by Emery Walker, Ltd. after photograph by Elliott and Fry, Photographers); octavo, original sewn blue wrappers.
Sir Emery Walker was one of the most important figures in the world of British book production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Printer, engraver, typographer, and photographer. He was a friend of William Morris and reportedly inspired him to create the Kelmscott Press. Together with bookbinder T. J. Cobden-Sanderson he founded the Doves Press, though the partnership was short-lived.
