About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, Ltd., 1932. Hardcover. Very Good. Oppenheim was a prolific and popular English writer of romantic mysteries and thrillers in the last half of the 19th, first half of the 20th century. "Sinners Beware" is a collection of 10 short stories from the 1920s and '30s. First edition, second printing (Dec. 1932). About 4 3/4 x 7 inches, 320 pages bound in red cloth-covered boards. The front cover is decorated with a stamped graphic design that includes the publisher's logo; lettering on spine is in black. Book has a slight spine lean with touch of wear at corners, edges and spine ends. Text edges lightly soiled, and "shadow" on front end page from what was probably previous owner's name/address label. O/w boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked. Hinges intact, binding firm. Not ex-library, not remaindered. Sorry, no dustjacket. A good, representative sample of Oppenheim's shorter writing.
