Indianapolis, IN: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1941. FIrst American Edition [stated], presumed first printing. Hardcover. Good in good dust jacket. Previoius owner's small bookplate inside front cover. Cover has some wear and soiling. Some page discoloration.. 316 p. Noted European author who was born in 1898 and lived until 1958. After initially being classified in England as an Enemy Alien, this designation was later changed by a Tribunal to a "Victim of Nazi Oppression. " This enabled the author to later become a member of the Axuiliary Miliary Pioneer Corps (A.M.P.C. ) and to see service in uniform during the Second World War.
