A book that explores sharks via encounters while on the Calypso, Cousteau's famous research vessel. The book is co-authored with his son Philippe who carried the family mantle and distinguished himself as well in ocean conservation; the majority of the narrative actually seems to be by Philippe, but shorter sections by Jacques-Yves are interspersed. Rich with color photos and stills from films that the Cousteau team made. Jacques-Yves Cousteau remains the most famous oceanographer and marine science popularizer in history.
