About This Item

New York: Grove Press, Inc, 1970. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Inscribed by Ed Sanders on the front flyleaf: "Hello Thorpe! This book is a bit chauvinistic but maybe the humor will carry it... Ed Sanders Sept 70". Fantastical fable of drugged-out depravity mythologizing the exploits of Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Paul Krassner, and other leading figures in the Youth International Party. An icon of the American counterculture, the poet, musician, and activist Ed Sanders (b.1939) has been called a bridge between the Beat and hippie generations. The recipient of the Guggenheim Award and the American Book Award, he is also a founding member of the revered freak folk band The Fugs. Octavo. Original blue cloth binding, with black titles. Some mild toning and wear along the extremities of the dust jacket; otherwise very good.
