Synopsis

Ellen Glasgow weaves the mysterious tale of a Miss Margaret Randolph, a young nurse who was hired to be a private nurse for the invalid wife of the very famous Dr. Maradick.  While in this employ, Miss Randolph perceives the flickers of ghosts and starts to unweave the secrets that bind them all together in the Doctor's web.
