Boston: Little, Brown, 1901. Cloth. Good. Blue satin-like cloth with darker lily pads and light flowers on front, gilt title and author on front very bright, less so on spine, three tiny wear spots at spine top edge, two very tiny tears at spine bottom edge, light wear to tips, very slight to back tips, roughcut pages. Good+. Includes Saturday Review of Literature article and newspaper article on Hearn's parents.
Synopsis
This a collection of Japanese folk tales about the supernatural, gleaned by Lafcadio Hearn during his life in Japan. At least one of these stories (the reconciliation) featured in the 1960's classic Japanese movie 'Kwaidan' (pronounced 'Kai-dan in modern Japanese).
