London: Grant Richards. Translated by Louise & Aylmer Maude. Black and white portrait photo frontis of Tolstoy in military uniform, with tissue guard. Publishers dark green cloth, titled gilt. Gilt double eagle device with "LT" on upper board. Contents clean and complete. Boards a little damp (?) marked but no odour. Minor wear at head & foot of spine. "Tottenham House Library" small discreet stamp to front endpaper & pocket with card attached to rear endpaper. Only issued once it seems! No dustwrapper . Good. Hardcover. 1st thus. 1901.
