A first edition. In the publisher's original cloth binding with unclipped dust wrapper. A collection of four essays based on the 'T. S. Eliot Memorial Lectures' delivered by W. H. Auden at the University of Kent in 1967. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt detail to the spine. Externally, excellent with very light shelf wear. Some light offsetting to the rear paste-down and free endpaper. The original unclipped dustwrapper is in smart condition. Marks to the panels and age-toning to the edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Some spotting to the fore-edge. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
