This is a limited edition, deluxe copy of "SEA FISHING" by John Bickerdyke - with contributions on 'Antipodean and Foreign Fish' by W. Senior, 'Tarpon' by A.C. Harmsworth, and 'Whaling' by Sir H.W. Gore-Booth. 1895 1st edition; Longmans, Green, and Co.; London. Limited edition copy - #24 of only 250 copies printed. Gilt top page edges. Ribbon page marker. The book is profusely illustrated with full-page plates and in-text drawings throughout. Bound in three-quarter blue leather with orange boards and gilt lettering on the spine.

The contents are as follows: Introductory - Charts, Tides, etc.; Round the British and Irish Coasts; Whippings, Servings, Knots, Hooks, and Sundry Wrinkles; Baits; Fly Fishing in the Sea; From Land and Pier; Sea Fishing from Small Boats; Sea Fishing from Yachts and Large Fishing Boats; The Ocean Fishing Rod; Low-Water Shell Fish and Conger Hunting, Prawnings, and Shrimping; Surface-Feeding Sea Fish; Flat-Side and Flat-Backed Fishes; Cod, Haddocks, Whiting, Bream, Conger, Sharks, etc.; The Sea Fisher in Foreign Parts; Tarpon Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico; Whaling.

Condition:
Light staining and soiling on the covers. Wear to the leather at the cover corners, and at the edges of the spine. There is a 1" vertical tear at the top edge of the spine. Bright gilt top page edges. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. The pages have consistent foxing throughout, varying from light to heavy. Pages x and xi each have a small tear at the outer edge. Old bookplate affixed to the front pastedown. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
