'A Scots Earl in Covenanting Times: Being Life and Times of Archibald 9th Earl of Argyll, (1629-1685)'. Gilt applied to top edge of text block, remaining sides are rough cut. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Previous owner's inscription and minor pencil marks to front free end-paper. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. Gilt lettering is darkened. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Top edge of text block is dust marked.
