Long tears to several pages, some chipping, foxing and staining. Vol. one has damp stain to tail edge. A very good complete set of Scientific American Magazine for 1890.

VeryGood unmarked contents in Good marbled boards with black spine and corners; lower 3 in of backstrip missing, edgewear.. This is a complete bound edition of 26 consecutive weekly issues, Volume III (July-Dec, 1860) including lovely illustrated frontispiece page. Each issue contains 16 pages of useful information, and from 5 to 10 original engravings of new inventions and discoveries, with Patent Claims and Notes & Queries. (One interesting patent noted on page 356 is that of president-elect Abrabam Lincoln*s Apparatus for Buoying Vessels, illustrated.) Great piece of American science history, clean and tight. 10 x 13-1/2, 414 pp, indexes (of Illustrations, Miscellany, & Patent Claims), b/s illustrations throughout.
