London, UK: Chatto & Windus, 1894. Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. First edition. 249pp, 32pp publisher's ads; fold out plate, numerous in-text illustrations. Blue cloth-covered boards, colour illustration on front, black titles on front, gilt titles on spine. Fore edge untrimmed; illustrated endpapers. 12mo. Sun-faded spine; rubbed corners and spine ends, cloth worn through in places. Text block edges tanned. Endpapers starting to fox and tan; lender's stamps, security device and markings on front free endpaper and verso of title page, frontispiece loosely laid-in. Gutters cracked and strained, volume quite loose.
