Best known for his tavern, from which Georgia patriots directed their part in the Revolution, Tondee saw the entire colonial era, from the first sick spring until the final turbulent sumer. Tondee, during his lifespan of forty-two years in Georgia, was in contact with every major figure in the State's colonial history including Oglethorpe, Tomochichi, John Wesley, Habersham, and the Liberty Boys. Book Condition is Very Good+; white marbled paper over boards with maroon paper over spine, gold lettering. 286pp. First Edition, first printing. Signed by Carl Solana Weeks on the title page, in Savannah. Maps, illustrations and portraits in b&w. Appendices, notes, bibliography, index . Book is clean and unmarked with a firm secure binding. Lower front corner very lightly bumped. Dust Jacket Condition is Very Good+; clean matte jacket with excellent color and price intact. Shelf wear to both ends of jacket; light rubbing at corners and along bottom and top edges. No tears or nicks. Covered with a removable mylar jacket. Attractive copy.
