Piece of dust-jacket with title and author's name and decoration tipped in to half title page. "Sappho lies remote from us, beyond the fashions and the ages, beyond sight, almost beyond the wing of Thought, in the world's extremest youth." - from the introduction, page 5. With a 7 page prose Introduction, a short verse Foreword, and English translations of the Hymn to Aphrodite, 52 fragments, and Sappho to Phaon, Ovid's Heroic Epistle XV. .
