About This Item
London: Hamish Hamilton, 1952. First edition, small 8vo, pp. [14], 146; red cloth boards, silver title on spine; fine in a fine dust jacket. Inscribed to the dedicatee by Partridge: "To John W. Clark, with the wish that it was worthy of him, Eric Partridge, 30 May, 1952." Clark, professor at the University of Minnesota, was an old friend of Partridge, and a sometimes collaborator. One small correction to the text in Partridge's hand.
