Hardback octavo, no jacket, very good condition, mid-green boards, gilt title cover & spine, gilt decorative logo front cover, black & white text- photos, pages lightly toned, light foxing edges & pastedowns, autograph (editor's written & dated dedication reverse side front flyleaf). 150 pp. These essays, edited by James Walsh, are the story of the Irish who immigrated to San Francisco in 1850 to 1976. The essays are not written as conclusive findings. The essays are of interest regarding an important part of Irish history. This collection was made possible with a grant provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities to the Irish Literary and Historical Society.
