London: Grant Richards, 1902 Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Octavo. 8vo. xv (i), 112 pp. First Edition, 1902. No Dust Jacket, As Issued. Only the slightest external wear to drop box and book, else, Pristine. No markings, tight binding, clean, white and bright. 5.25" x 7.75". Blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine, and gilt top text block. Laid into a Near Fine blue slipcase and chemise cloth drop box. "John Edward Masefield (1878-1967) was an English poet and writer, and Poet Laureate from 1930 until 1967. This, the first collection of verse, Salt-Water Ballads, was published in 1902, and included the poem 'Sea-Fever' ( I must go down to the seas again on p 59).".
