Endpapers photo of young Salinger in front, old Salinger in back. Out of WWII combat depression he wrote "Catcher in the Rye" which was banned in many states but is now a classic. Plus he wrote many other novels, stories, and articles. A recluse, the authors had to work very hard to uncover his history after his death in 2008 and share it here with you.
