About This Item

Golden Press, Racine, Wisconsin, 1976. First Edition. Softcover. Good Condition. Illustrator: Tenggren. The text is illustrated with colour drawings by Tenggren, who also drew the colour illustration on the front panel. At the rear of the book there is a pocket and within that pocket a small record, which runs at 33 1/3 RPM. Sooki, a small saggy baggy elephant, was taunted by other animals in the jungle about his looks. He tried many remedies but they were failures. So he decided to take himself into a cave to hide, when a very hungry lion thought that a small elephant would be just the thing. He gave out one a loud trumpet, and, all of a sudden there were very large saggy baggy elephants frightening off the lion, and, they assured him that he would be as handsome as they when he grew up. The record at the rear of the book is so that the young people who read the book can listen to the words at the same time. Creasing of the book corners with quite noticeable rubbing of the book panels. Along the edges of the front text insect damage can be seen. Remains of a sticker can be seen to the front edge of the front panel. The record is in good condition though a couple of fingerprints can be seen. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: Square Octavo. 24 pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Tenggren. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Children; Illustration; Inventory No: 0129255. .
