RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM (English & Persian)

This is one of a limited-edition run of a commissioned book, of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, the book of poetry attributed to the 'astronomer poet' of Persia, who died in 1131. It uses the translation of Edward FitzGerald (1809-1883).

The book may have been created c 2010. According to a statement in the book, it was created by Mohammadi Hosseinpour for a client, whose name is stated in the book. Hosseinpour apparently intended to market it and set up a website for it but that site is long gone. It has an ISBN sticker but that number is not attached to any book. The sticker can be removed. I have only been able to find one other copy of it.

It is printed in English and Persian. In keeping with the Persian language's right-to-left reading, it is (to us) back-to-front: Image 1 is the Persian cover, which is what we think of as the back cover. Image 2 is the English cover, which is what we think of as the front cover.

The client spared no expense to produce this book. Every page is heavily illustrated with custom drawings. The book is bound in fine, smooth, black, hand-tooled leather with a brilliant gold design on the spine and covers. The cover is silver-foiled paper. Beautiful paper. The book appears to be hand-bound. The whole thing is best-quality.

There are no page numbers; it's appr 100. 6 3/4" x 9 1/2".
This book was unopened until today. It is pristine.
