This richly colour illustrated copy is a translated edition of Omar Khayyam's poetry. Edward Fitzgerald rendered the Persian into English and has written an introduction for this copy. Omar Khayyam was an astronomer and poetry of the Eleventh and Twelfth Century. He wrote his poetry in quatrains and became widely known to the English-reading world through Fitzgerald's translations. Including eight colour plate illustrations. Collated, complete. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some fading to the extremities a light watermark to the rear board. Booksellers sticker and light water mark to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages.
