London: Sidgwick and Jackson, 1923. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". None. A play by John Drinkwater. This dramatic work is based on Robert E Lee, an American and Confederate Soldier. He was a top army commander of the Confederate States of America. The first edition of this work. Held in original unclipped dustwrapper. John Drinkwater was an English poet and dramatist. He wrote many major plays on historical figures. He had great success with his first play 'Abraham Lincoln'. Other historical plays by him is 'Mary Stuart' and 'Oliver Cromwell'. In publisher's cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally smart with light bumping to the head and tail of spine. A few light marks to the front board. Dustwrapper is very smart. Patches of light rubbing to the joints and to the spine. Small chips to the head and tail of spine in addition to the head and tail of flyleaf joints. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Occasional spots to the foredge, otherwise clean throughout. Near Fine
