First edition, number 29 of 100 copies signed by Mrs Wyndham Lewis, Michael Ayrton and Walter Allen; 8vo; frontispiece etching by Ayrton signed & numbered by him in pencil; publisher's red buckram, matching slip-case, a near fine copy; with the trade edition of the same.
The first edition of this satirical attack on the book world, originally destined for publication in 1936 but pulled by the then publishers Jonathan Cape for fear of libel. The characteristic portrait of Wyndham Lewis by Michael Ayrton is entitled 'Mr Wyndham Lewis regarding, with distaste and rancour, the literary establishment of the 1930s'.
