Hardcover book has green paper-covered boards and black cloth spine with simulated raised bands. Spine has title in black on white paper label with green bars and a compass decoration. Corners and spine ends lightly bumped. Corners rubbed with a small area of the board visible. Previous owner's name stamp also on half-title page, along with school name written in ink. NOT ex-library. Black & white illustrations by Julia McCune Flory. Illustrated map endpapers. Small erased pencil mark on front free endpaper. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Title page has decorative black & white floral border. 375 pages. No dust jacket.
