Clean, tight, solid, square, with sharp corners, with binding of turquoise blue cloth, black illustration of cattails on front, silver lettering and black birds on spine. There is a white partial ring mark on front and slight rubbing on lower edge. Rough cut. Interior is very clean, free from any markings, no creases. Endpapers have a map of the Upper Mississippi in front and Lower Mississippi in the back. lllustrated by the author. Jacket is clean, white with blue and green lettering, grey illustrations of wildlife. Spine ends chipped. upper front corner chipped, small closed tears on upper edge. Now with mylar protective cover. The story of the wildlife of the Mississippi, depicting the river almost as if man did not exist, describing the eternal face of the river, from the ice of the north to the bayous of the south, with the great fly-way of migrating birds, the muddy world of moving fish,the banks of willows, the bottom land tiny creatures--the river of nature. 271 pages. 6 x 8.6 inches.
