The Jacaranda Press, Brisbane, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. 122 pages. The text is illustrated with eight black-and-white photographs. Aqua coloured boards with white coloured backstrip with aqua coloured titles. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and shelfwear to the lower book edges. The white of the spine has become yellowed and discoloured. Browning and foxing to the paper edges. Offset tanning , browning and foxing to the endpapers and internal pages are also very slightly brown. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing a man playing a violin with a line of playing cards behind him, against a black background with white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing to the dust wrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. Small chips to the spine gutter edges and there is a tear to the top, rear spine down to edge measuring 1.5 " with associated creasing. The spine of the dust wrapper has become darkened. Browning and very light foxing to the verso of the dust wrapper. The autobiography of the author who left Sweden to sail the seas and ended up in Australia and then went exploring.
