London: Folio Society, 1986. viii, 326pp., 9 leaves of lithographic plates reproducing 12 photographs take by Lawrence and his comrades during the Arab campaign between 1916 and 1918, and four sketches made by Bawden during the Second World War, map endpapers. Printed and bound by the by the Bath Press in full yellow pictorial cloth with a sketch in brown by Edward Bawden. A fine bright copy in a fine publisher's slipcase. Revolt in the Desert was an abridged version of Seven Pillars, which he began in 1926 and was published in March 1927 in both limited and trade editions. Clean. 1st Edition. Illustrated Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
The abrdiged version of Seven Pillars of Wisdom, which is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British soldier T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918.
