Very Good Condition/Good. the original colour illustrated dustjacket has a 2 inch tear at the top left, and a 1 inch tear at the bottom right of the front panel. The cloth covered board shows no damage, the page edges are slightly darkened with age, previous owner's details at the top of the half title page. In this sumptuously illustrated book the author illuminates the meaning of the Renaissance in terms of the society in which it took place. He deals with 175 years of visible and often violent change during a period unique in history. The book is illustrated with end page maps, a timeline, and 204 reproductions of artwork, of which 48 pages are colour plates. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 176 pages.
