White and lavender glossy dust jacket with a renaissance frame, slightly yellowed, minimal normal shelfwear. Interior has a very small scar at top gutter at the end papers, probably done in binding, otherwise clean and unmarked. 1st book length account of Renaissance humanism and the Latin literary tradition in 15th and 16th century Poland. Copernicus, the best known representative of Polish humanism, was no isolated phenemenon, but rather one member of a lively community of intellectuals. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 286 pages .
