VG- (wear to boards especially leather portions, light soiling along side block edges and light age toning but text and illustrations are otherwise very clean and clear.). Three-quarters blue-green leather boards, five raised bands on spine with gilt ruling and lettering; top edge gilt; color illustrated frontispiece; viii, 263 pp, 64 color plates with descriptive tissue guards. Includes a list of illustrations on pages VII-VIII. Also includes an index in rear.

Some page tanning, else textblock is in very good condition, all 64 coloured, tissue-guarded plates present; both hinges cracked, front endpaper has owner's inscription dated Xmas 1909, front pastedown has remains of Red Cross Library label (no other signs of library ownership); cover in fair condition, rather rubbed and worn, with scratching and a few marks, gilt on front panel still quite bright, that on backstrip (which has some wear, particularly to extremities) more dull. No wrapper..

London: The Blackfriars Publishing Company Undated , believed to be 1910. Internallly very good subject to slight foxing to a few leaves , greeting on fep, binding firm , cover reasonably bright subject to a little fading / marking. Pics available
