The first appearance in print for these short pieces written for the cinema. Mary Margaret McBride was an American radio interview host and writer. Her popular radio shows spanned more than 40 years. In the 1940s the daily audience for her housewife-oriented program numbered from six to eight million listeners. She was called "The First Lady of Radio."[Wickipedia).
