Edward Moxon. 1856. thick12mo, 19cm, viii,355p., with 31 steel engraved portraits including frontis, addenda, corrigenda, index, in fine binding (not signed but in the best tradition British fine binding) in morocco grain brown calf, dark brown and gilt ruled raised bands, ornate gilt device decorations and titles in the spine panels, blind border ruled marble boards, bevelled boards, dark brown endpapers, t.e.g., a fine copy (ds1). A beautifully bound book with engraved portraits of many of the acquaintances and friends of the poet, Samuel Rogers. Portraits included are David Garrick, Joshua Reynolds, Dryden, Sheridan, Walter Scott, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Southey, Moore, Byron, Shelley, Davy, Canning, Fox, Queen Charlotte. The engraved frontis portrait is of Samuel Rogers (1763-1855).
