About This Item
London: Collins, 1954. First edition, first printing. Published by Collins in London, 1954. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper is nicely illustrated. It has not been price clipped, though has some wear to note. The front panel is slightly toned, particularly at the edges, and worn at the edges in equal measure. The spine is toned and with separation at the top and tail. The rear panel has some closed tears and nicks present. It is toned and with handling marks. The book is very near fine, with only slight bumping at the spine tips to note. The internals are clean, all of the BW plates are present, and there is not any previous owners ink. This is a very good (or better) copy. Biography of an English hero in World War II who lost both legs in an air crash, learned to walk again, and became a fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain. He was captured but managed to escape from the enemy.
