About This Item
NY: Random House, 1959. This is an ex-school library copy, but the dust jacket and the covers of the book show well. All of the flaws are on the pages with envelope removal scar and stamps. Still, a decent place saving copy that shows well on the shelf until you want to spend bigger bucks for a collectible first edition. Priced accordingly. 142 pp. . Fifth Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good-/Good Only - Price-clipped.
Synopsis
A Raisin in the Sun is the best-known work of author and playwright Lorraine Hansberry. It debuted on Broadway in 1959, making Hansberry the first African American woman to achieve this honor. The title comes from the poem "Harlem" by Langston Hughes.
