Oxenham's second generation Abbey series, in the original dust wrapper. The first edition, first impression of this work, in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.With vignette and full page illustrations throughout by M. D. Neilson.In this title, Benedicta returns to the Abbey after four years, and finds that Rachel has become an 'Abbot' to the younger girls, and has become the person they turn to when they need advice.With a Foyles bookseller's label to the front pastedown, and the inscription of J. Coast, July 1952, to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, exceptionally bright, with horizontal line of discolouration to front and rear board. Bookseller's label to front pastedown, and inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper a touch sunned to back strip, with chipping and small losses to the back strip head, and a further small closed tear to the head of the rear wrap. Small closed tear either side of dust wrapper back strip tail. Light marks to rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Near Fine
