The dust wrapper is so slightly toned to the front and rear panels, with some mild handling marks to the rear panel. The top of the flaps are also clean. It has not been price clipped and shows the original 13s 6d net price. It is free from previous owners ink. The boards are tight. The gilt titling is in tact and generally bright. Overall, this is a near fine copy. Narrated in the first person by journalist Thomas Fowler, the novel depicts the breakdown of French colonialism in Vietnam and early American involvement in the Vietnam War.
Synopsis
Graham Greene (1904–1991) worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the foreign office. His many books include The Third Man , The Comedians and Travels with My Aunt . He is the subject of an acclaimed three-volume biography by Norman Sherry.
