Illustrated throughout by the renowned English writer, artist, poet, and illustrator Mervyn Peake, best known for his Gormenghast series of fantasy books. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few minor marks to the boards, including a light damp stain to the tail of the boards. Spots to the fore edge. Dust wrapper is edge worn with chips and closed tears, loss to the head and tail of the spine, tail of the rear wrap, and to the spine. Wraps are a little age-toned, in particular the spine. A few light handling marks and some light rubbing to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
