London (Albemarle Street): John Murray, 1926. 1st UK Edition 1st Impression. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st UK edition, first printing. [xii], 318pp, with a colour plate frontispiece and numerous further monochrome plate illustrations, many appearing in print for the first time here. In strong buckram cloth boards extensive gilt decorations and lettering (very gently rubbed and rounded on corners and spine tips, spine a little sun-darkened). The cover is a modern adaption of the Grolier design used on Capella, by Enrico Monetti. Gift inscription, dated 1926, on front free endpaper, endpapers slightly toned, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. 8vo. Attractive, lavishly produced, volume.
