Paper bit age-toned else in fine condition. Excellent copy, crisp map. ~ FIRST EDITION. Extremely rare. Général Mohamed Chérif-Pacha (1865-1944), Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour. He turned to diplomacy, became ambassador of the Ottoman Empire in Stockholm. In 1919 he presided over the Kurdish delegation to the Peace Conference of Paris. Was a fierce advocated for Kurd and Armenian rights. In this book, one of the most important early documentations and analyses of the Balkan War, he analyses the political situation that led to the outbreak of hostilities; describes the first battle at Kirk-Kilissé; the retreat of the Ottoman army and the offensive of the Bulgarian army; the battles of Lulé-Bourgas and of Tchataldja (Çatalca). Painfully, he contemplates on the possible reasons for the Ottomans' defeat, describes the fall of Andrinople and Janina and finally, the conditions of the armistice. 004-12
