London: Griffth, Farran, Okeden & Welsh, 1898. Illustrated by Harriett M. Bennett. Pp. [52], with chromolithographic frontispiece, pictorial title page and 16 full page illustrations, plus numerous tinted illustrations (some full page) small cr. 4to; green cloth backed pictorial glazed papered boards, slightly soiled, edges lightly worn, small damp stain to top edge of upper board, short split to cloth at foot of spine; inked gift inscription (dated 1888) on upper free endpaper, the free endpapers lightly offset, hinges starting at a couple of points, a little faint soiling and a couple of light marginal damp stains; Griffith, Farran, Okeden & Welsh, London, n.d.[1888]. *Printed by Ernest Nister of Nuremberg. Nister established a London office in 1888, and published several books by Robert Ellice Mack. Harriett M. Bennett was a painter and illustrator of children's books who exhibited several paintings at The Royal Academy between 1877 and 1892.
