Issued in the Text-Books of Science Series. col.f/piece+xv+246+(2, series list), 57 text figs.; half-title has innocuous small (15 mm) round stamp of the Birmingham Assay Office Library bottom corner and early signature above central text, front gutter opening after half-title, though secure, rear end-gutter opening between end-paper and pastedown, top edge dust-darkened, otherwise internally clean and unmarked, covers clean but top spine rubbed and chipped above text-block level and incipient splitting to top halves of joints, otherwise clean and minimally worn.
