London: Bell and Daldy, 1863. Disbound. Very Good binding. Octavo. 16 pp. First edition. Removed from volume. Generally clean. A tract that challenges the supposition make by a "distinguished English statesman: that "Turkey has made more progress in ten years than any European nation" (p. 3). The author dives into injustices suffered by Christians leading the author to conclude: "Yes, it advances, we repeat; but in the way of evil--in the way of the most atrocious barbarism" (p. 16). Scarce with less than half a dozen institutional holdings according to OCLC.
