The boards are brown cloth with gold lettering on the spine only. New marbled endpapers/free endpapers both front and back. Signed on the second free end paper "O. C. Everett from his friend, John S. Williams, Esq. Feb 1842" ; Interesting record of some of the tensions between Rev. John Pierpont and the Unitarian congregation served. Pierpont is better known as a poet and the grandfather of J. P. Morgan. .
