Hunting (1826-1894) of the First Unitarian Church in Davenport, Iowa, among many positions; he also served as chaplain of the 27th Reigment of Michigan Infantry during the Civil War, as president of the Iowa Prisoners' Aid Association, and as president of the Davenport Academy of Natural Sciences. This used paperback book is in very good condition. The pages are clean and neat. The binding is tight. The boards are clean inside and out.

Small color illustration of Meggie on front still quite nice although one edge is chipped. Boards have light normal wear and tear for age. Boards are together but completely separated from text. Also text is very loose within itself but is quite clean. There are 2 stories in this book. Pencilled gift dated July 21, 1876 reads 'A present to jesse from his ma'ma For going to school every day but one'. Frep has small piece missing. Engravure frontispiece for Meggie Williams shows Meggie, a young boy and man at a grave site. Engravure frontispiece for polly shows children being handed cookies at a gathering. This book is published under the direct of the Tract Committee and the direction of the Committee of General Knowledge and Education, appointed by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. A near fine copy of this careful exposition of the first revisions giving rise to the 1661/62 BCP.

1947 National Safety Council, Chicago trade hardcover format with dustjacket. Dustjacket in overall Very Good minus condition, two enclosed rips along the seam of the front panel, spine end extremities chipped, top spine is chipped, light overall aging; looks very good in brodart protective sleeve. The dustjacket is printing on low quality paper, it's nice to find one in any condition. "Ellington Air Force Base; Ground Safety Deps; Dec. 1953" is penned in lead based ink on the ffep and grounds the history on this piece. One lead based ink dot that bleeds through page 47 to 48, top edge lightly toned, else pages are clean & unmarked.
